A patient's anxiety, mood, trauma history or safety concern is taking over the visit, and the behavioral-health question is bigger than the appointment slot. Scheduled case consultation gives you a licensed clinician's read on the psychosocial picture, the therapy options, and the right level of care, in writing, within two business days. You keep every clinical decision; we give you the behavioral-health perspective to make it with.
Who it is for
- Physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and urgent care
- Solo and small practices, multi-site primary-care groups and FQHCs
- Not for psychiatry or psychiatric nurse-practitioner practices; those clinicians already carry the behavioral-health specialty in-house
What we advise on
- Psychosocial assessment and differential within the scope of clinical social work (for example anxiety versus ADHD versus trauma presentation)
- Which psychotherapy fits the presentation, and what a realistic course looks like
- Level of care: when outpatient therapy is appropriate and when a higher level of care is the safer choice
- Safety-planning guidance for chronic suicidal ideation without current intent or plan, and what to document
- Community resources and a warm-handoff design that fits your clinic workflow
What we never do
- No medication selection, dosing, monitoring or tapering advice: medication decisions stay with you or psychiatry
- No supervision of physician assistants or nurse practitioners; consultation is collegial, not supervisory
- No emergency or after-hours coverage: imminent risk belongs with 911, the ER or 988
- No psychological or psychometric testing; formal test batteries are referred to a licensed psychologist
How it works
1. Discovery callA 20-minute conversation about your practice, the questions you see most, and whether consultation is the right fit.
2. AgreementA short written consultation agreement: scope, fee, term and the independence terms below. Nothing starts before it is signed.
3. Scheduled consult30 or 60 minutes by phone or secure video, patient-specific, with the records you choose to share.
4. Written summaryA documented consult note and a written summary to you within 2 business days.
Two ways to work together
Ad hoc case consultation
A scheduled 30- or 60-minute consultation about one patient, with a documented consult note and a written summary back to you.
Good for an occasional complex presentation or a second opinion on level of care.
Pricing after a 20-minute discovery call
Practice retainer
A fixed monthly fee for a stated bundle: a set number of consult hours, same-week warm-handoff access for your patients who need therapy, and a quarterly 60-minute staff training on PHQ-9, GAD-7, C-SSRS and the warm-handoff workflow.
Good for practices that field behavioral-health questions every week.

Independence. Consultation fees are fixed in advance, reflect fair market value for the time, and are independent of any referral. Patients needing therapy receive at least two referral options alongside any ZipHealthy option. Patient-specific consultation between treating providers is documented in our clinical record; staff training involves no patient information.
