WHO-5 Wellbeing Self-Check
A free, confidential 5-question check of your overall emotional wellbeing over the past two weeks.
About This Assessment
The WHO-5 Well-Being Index is one of the most widely used measures of subjective psychological wellbeing in the world, developed by the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre in Mental Health. Unlike symptom screens, it asks about positive states — cheerfulness, calm, energy, rest, and interest. Low scores can also flag possible depression. This check takes about 1 minute.
Instructions: Over the last two weeks, how often have you felt the following? Select the answer closest to how you have been feeling.

The WHO-5 measures subjective wellbeing; it is not a diagnostic instrument. A raw score of 12 or below (index < 50) suggests screening for depression is appropriate. Discuss your results with a healthcare professional for proper interpretation and guidance.

About the WHO-5
The WHO-5 was introduced by the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre in Mental Health in 1998 and has since been validated in dozens of languages and hundreds of studies. Its five positively phrased items cover mood, calm, energy, rest, and interest over the past two weeks. The raw score (0-25) is multiplied by 4 to give a 0-100 wellbeing index; an index below 50 suggests low wellbeing and possible depression worth screening for.
