Q. How do I know if I should use these services?

Many people ask this question and this is what this service was designed for.

Q. What is the coaching session like?

The session is a non-judgmental and confidential conversation designed to help you be your best. The session is not a psychotherapy session and strictly focuses on behavioral interventions. These interventions are designed to be short, quick, and highly beneficial.

Q. What if I want to switch coaches?

Like somethings in life, issues sometimes arise. We recommend first discussing your concerns with your current coach. If this does not resolve your concerns you can request another coach. If another coach is not available you can elect to cancel your membership.

Q. Can I request a coach with certain areas of expertise, gender or background?

Yes, when you speak with the coach during your telephone appointment, let him/her know your preferences. All efforts will be made to accomodate your preference. However a provider might not be available. In the event your preference cannot be fullfilled you have the option to cancel your subscription.

Q. A job application asks if I've ever been diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder? Do I have to answer "yes" to this question?

Not necessarily. Many people are seen for issues other than “psychiatric disorders.” For example, therapy related to coping with normal life stressors such as breakups, relationship issues, academic stress, or loss of a loved one would not typically be viewed as therapy for a “psychiatric disorder.”

Q. Am I depressed?

Depression has been called "the common cold of mental health." We all know that everybody feels down or pessimistic from time to time. That's normal. Many people wonder, "When does feeling down cross the line into depression?" That's a tough question, because it's not always an either-or kind of thing. Typically when the frquency, severity, and duration increases and affects your functioning in a negative way is when getting help might not be a bad thing.

Q. Are your services confidential?

All contacts with a Ziphealthy clinician are entirely confidential, except in those rare instances of imminent risk of harm to self or others, or where otherwise required by law.  No information is shared with friends, family or other clinicians outside of ziphealthy without your explicit consent. Clients have used it for consulting on a concern, performance improvement, smoking cesssation, acheiving a goal, weight loss, reinforcing a physician or other healthcare provider recommendation, improvement of mood, improvement of anxiety and so much more.

Q.Is a mental health record created?

Absolutely not. Coaching is not psychotherapy and no mental health record is created. Your information is kept confidential in accordance with healthcare laws and regulations.

Q. How long is the wait for an appointment?

We are usually able to accommodate clients within one day of scheduling. However, we have same day access with adequate notice. Please give us a call.
